Pastor's Corner: Celebrating 75 Years!

In 1934 God called on a man by the name of James Sheltrown. He placed in that man's heart a vision and a calling for West Branch. James Sheltrown left Arkansas that year and traveled back to Michigan, where in 1935 he started a little church called Edwards Full Gospel Church.
Edwards Full Gospel went through a number of changes and challenges; one of which included a fire that destroyed the church building. But the calling and the vision were far greater than the challenges.
This small group of people stuck together and later rebuilt, calling their new church Mt. Zion Tabernacle. They rebuilt on the edge of farm field South of town about 5 miles.
In 1995 they built a brand new facility on the same property and changed the name to New Life Christian Church.
It was 75 years ago that the vision was planted and the church was birthed, and 75 years later we are thriving and still doing everything we can to accomplish the purposes that God has called us to. We exist to be a church of prayer, praise and worship where God's Word is preached in order to see the lost saved and discipled so that they and other Christians may grow and be successful in their walk with God.
This month on the 25th through the 29th we will be celebrating 75 years of ministry and service to West Branch and the surrounding communities.
Come join us with Dr. Mark T. Barclay on Wednesday night, Rev. Jim Crabb on Thursday and Friday and Rev. Bill Otten Saturday and Sunday. It's going to be a grand time and we look forward to seeing then.
All For His Glory!
Pastor Rick
